A super cool rooftop, where popular events tend to happen is the 230 - Fifth Rooftop.
Ok, this is not only a super popular rooftop, where fashion shows, 4th of July, and New Year's Eve events happen but also one of the first rooftops I visited when I first moved to NYC - what makes it even cooler.
This place has a beautiful view of the empire state building and has two floors with different and thematic areas.
Ok, so this is a rooftop and yes, it is open in the winter. Have you ever heard of the red party? Exactly! This place is not a “red party” exactly, but they give red cozy robes in the winter. So, even being outside, you will not be cold. Also, in the wintertime they put heated igloos on the second floor, so, honestly, you don’t feel like being on a rooftop or open space at all.
Food and drinks are normal. Nothing too crazy, but you don’t go to this place thinking about the food or the drinks. This is literally the kind of place you go because you want to see the space, see the view and have a very touristy NYC experience.
As I mentioned, this place hosts tons of important events during the year. From fashion shows to NYE events and private parties. And no, they are not cheap and, if you leave for the last minute, tickets will most likely be sold out. So if you don’t have any plans for NYE yet, I recommend you run and get your tickets right away!
They also plan their calendar a year in advance, so for more info and upcoming events for next year https://www.230-fifth.com
PS: the people on these pictures are my Brazilian friends. 230 - Fifth is one of the first places I take my friends when they come to visit.
