THE LITTLE SHOP

Ok, do you guys know those hidden spots in NYC that you look to the front of the place and you think “this looks like a deli or a simple convenience store”. Well, The Little Shop is one of those places, except for the fact that when you go through the hidden door you end up in the cutest space with such creative decor.

No jokes, a lot of people who live in the Financial District do not know about this place. I was one of those people!

So the place is located on 252 Front St (all the way downtown in Seaport) and it is literally a little shop. You walk in here thinking that you will buy a bottle of hot sauce, a pack of Doritos, some MM’s, probably some jelly beans, toilet paper, and maybe new batteries since you remembered that your remote control is almost dead, lol. But instead of doing all of that, you end up walking through that secret door and grabbing a real nice cocktail.

The drinks are super elaborated and thematic. You can find traditional cocktails like an Old Fashioned and a Negroni, but they created some crazy mixes, like the Black Sesame cocktail (vodka, coffee liqueur, coconut milk, black sesame) and the Green Banana (white rum, white port, matcha, banana liqueur, lime). You guys might even know these drinks, but this is all new for me and, honestly, super delicious.

The food offered at the bar is pretty simple, so you can find a hummus plate and a charcuterie plate. But one of the cool parts of this being a little shop and a bar is that you can buy yourself a bunch of snacks and they will serve you in the bar. So you are not restricted to buying only what is offered on the bar’s menu.

If you are a true New Yorker and happen to be around the Seaport area, you have to check this place. Believe me, it is like crossing right through your closet but instead of ending up in Narnia, you are in Alice’s Wonderland.
